Privacy Notice

Effective: October 2026

This site collects very little. This notice says what we collect, why, who sees it and what you can ask us to do.

What we collect

  • What you type into the request form: your firm name, your name and role, your work email and phone number, the size of your firm, what you want help with, how you want it delivered, when you want to start, the problem you describe, and how you heard about us.
  • What you send us directly if you write to us or call.
  • Basic technical records that our website host keeps for every visit: your IP address, your browser type, the pages requested and the date and time.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics. We do not buy information about you from anyone.

Why we collect it

To reply to your request, prepare a quote, keep a record of our business dealings with you and keep the site secure. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it or share it for advertising.

Who sees it

  • Jackson Bates of DataBates.
  • The services we use to run the site and our email: Vercel, which hosts the site and receives the form, Supabase, where requests are stored, Apple iCloud Mail and Gmail for email, and Google Drive for files.
  • Claude, from Anthropic, the AI assistant we use to help draft replies and quotes. Model training is turned off.
  • Authorities, only if the law requires it.

No one else.

How long we keep it

For as long as we are in touch with you, and afterward as part of our business records. If you ask, we delete what you sent unless we need to keep it for a legal, tax or record-keeping reason.

What you can ask us to do

Write to hello@databates.us to see what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted.

Tracking and Do Not Track

This site does not follow you across other websites, so it behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. We do not let other companies collect information about your activity on this site over time.

Security

We limit access to the people and services named above and take reasonable care with what you send. No website or email is perfectly secure, so please do not send confidential or client information through the site.

Children

This site is for businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Client data is covered elsewhere

This notice covers the website only. How we handle a client's data during a project is covered by the agreements we sign and by our AI and data page.

Where it is handled

DataBates is in the United States, and what you send is handled there.

Changes

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we post the new version here with a new effective date.
